you refer to it as thermal. That IS NOT thermal. It needs all that surrounding light (city) to capture. Take that out in pitch dark and you got nothing.. The Flir will continue to look the same.

why did you set the FLIR on it's 'noisiest' mode? that's deceptive and suggests your SIONYX needs that deception for this review. i still think it's an awesome camera though. probably a better value than FLIR

That’s awesome man love the video! This would be perfect for me in Jersey when we’re trolling for stripers at night. Sure beats a spot light and slow rolling near the coast looking for debris. You got my sub. Stay safe out there capt.

it sure isnt actual night vision. my super crappy gen 1 shows more than this…this just takes nearby, pretty pics with cool colors at night. thats it. and it isnt worth more than 200 bucks. AND IT IS $599 NOT 399

Was impressed by this video but after seeing number of other honest reviews and footages this one seems either enhanced or lucky success, cause all other look horrible.

I don't Know where you find it for $399? It appears to actually be priced at $599 everywhere that I looked, and while it appears to be a good product you kind of shoot your credibility in the foot by aiming the FLIR directly at the water and wiggling it around with just the barest sliver of the surrounding view now and then as a comparison… I'll bet that you cheat at cards and welch on bets too.

Is there a difference between the white and black one as far as night vision?
