Please, if anyone at LTT sees this, remove the battery or that thing will self destruct.

I got my first PC around 1995 and it had 750MB hard drive, 8 MB of memory (soon upgraded to 16mb), I think the processor was an intel pentium pro, socket 7, probably 133MHz. Of course AOL dial up was the hottest setup so I had a 9600 Baud modem. I viewed everything on the 12 in monitor and I ran windows 3.1 for a few months before my neighbor bought win95 and I learned about software piracy.
We would go to "computer shows" at the local convention center where you could deal directly with the chinese who sold parts dirt cheap, plus they were probably fake pentium processors. They sold stuff called "shareware" on 3.5 floppies. If you knew the right guys you could get some "questionable software". You could get hack programs, keygens, brute force password crackers, and of course adult software. but leisure suit larry hardly constitutes "adult" software. WEll, that was back then, when the internet was wide open, that's when I really learned that there are some real sickos in this world. I'm glad I was in my early 20's then so I didn't get left behind. I know people just 10 years older than me that don't know shit about computers. My generation was really right, directly, smack in the middle of the tech boom.
It was exciting then because every 6 months computing powers would double. New products and new uses came out all the time. Technology is still exciting and I am amazed by it but lately it's all just kind of the same. I mean how many more Playstations or Xbox's can they make? I started playing the home version of pong. Black and white squares bouncing on the screen. Atari 2600 came along and promised arcade games at home but in all reality they sucked. But it's what we had, and it was fun. Space Invaders is still fun to this day, so is Super Mario Brothers. Now I'm rambling like the old coot I am, and I better get in line for my afternoon meds.

6:14 back when Apple believed in expansions. Shame they not only stopped that, but also admitted to slowing performance of of their phones, with every update because they state it will optimize battery life.

    2020 Linus: wah, who cares, 10K for a sh!tty old monitor, 5K for a barbie pc…
