Solar panel for me was booty, if you are a person who TRULY wants to be safe and raise the motion settings to max or notifications settings to max your device will DIE FOR SURE LESS THAN A WEEK WITH BOTH BATTERIES

This battery life nonsense is really bothering me. It's 2020, and I personally don't believe we should have batteries that only last a few weeks on our home security devices. That's moronic, considering it's your safety. The solar panel is kind of a joke. I mean it's basically like Ring saying 2 things, 1- we know our batteries are junk, so go spend more money and get this laptop size panel and 2- we know we could integrate the solar panels on the devices themselves, but why when each extra battery is $30 while making more money off you going and buying our laptop size solar panel.
I can tell you my opinion on the device, because I literally just bought the indoor plug in cam and the outdoor battery cam shown, yesterday:
First, if you don't have extra lights outside don't plan on ring doing all the work. The light only comes on when detecting motion and there's no ability to keep it on all night. Which really sucks if you place it in areas with no light but would like to have lights in the area all night. I assume this isn't an option because ring ultimately knows it's batteries suck, and your device would probably die within hours.
Also, I've noticed no difference in the picture quality of my plug in and the outdoor, and both offer the same options, except for the lights on the outdoor cam. Meaning, if you have a window (and if you can), save yourself an extra $140 and just stick the plug in camera in your window. Both offer sirens, alerts, and the ability to voice talk. And seeing as how the plug in literally….plugs in…you'll not have to worry about some hulky solar panel or battery charging. I sat my plug in on the sliding doors floor rail, and I have a nice big clear view of the whole back deck. I put in an ultra bright light bulb in the deck light for light coverage.
The indoor cam has picked up EVERYTHING just sitting in a window. A cat and every little bug. The outdoor is NOT set on people only mode, and hasn't alerted me once about a thing. Which is odd because there's tons of bugs surrounding the front door light.
I also walked out front and the outdoor light was super slow to notify me that I was there, and 96% of the time, didn't detect me at all unless I was in its face.
Cloud storage to me is blahhhh. Unless anything actually happens (which I hope doesn't) you're just storing a lot of pointless vids of birds and bugs. And I've already found myself this morning going in and deleting all the pics and vids from the devices, because again, it's useless clutter.
All in all, after having each device for a day and through the night, I have to say I'm 100% more satisfied with my small indoor plug in. I'd recommend it first unless the outdoor option is your only option.

How long is the cable that connects the solar panel to the camera?
I have no internet access at home. Would that be a problem?
Good Review, its worth noting if you have the older solar panel and get a new camera, Ring does have an adapter to allow you ti use your old solar panel.
