What would you suggest is it a good buy? Specially in 2020 , any tips in what I should keep in mind while buying this used camera?

This camera is a dealbreaker, overall great quality. I don't shoot movies so I can't tell about them quality, but photo quality is near to superb in good light conditions. It clearly struggles in poor light conditions (snowy / overcast weather, dusk), that means you have to use your creativity to get good shots (and that's what is all about, for some of us). And it has the tools to let you do that: good lens aperture values, focus & exposure lock, switchable enhanced resolution, RAW and much more… which means that for weeks you literally have to go through ALL them settings and STUDY what they do, the manual doesn't quite cover it all. Just stay clear of both extremes of the zoom, which is SOP for these types of camera.

5:43 Thank you very much for making this comparison. I'm absolutely gutted that the FZ80 doesn't have a port for an external microphone; I would've bought it in a heartbeat if it did. And the only reasons I was so interested in the FZ300 are that it has a port for an external mic and it's also significantly cheaper than the Canon EOS M50. And yeah, if we're hitting the €500 mark, then I'd buy an M50, not an FZ1000.
Bought this camera six months after finally getting a Nikon 610D, full frame, to work with all my Nikon lenses. Why? I was tired of all the critics when photographing, indoor small concerts and specially theaters, because of the noise (mirror)!! Besides, previewing picture before shooting, speed up to 18000, macro down to 1cm, and articulated and touchable screen, are a game changer!
Also I had to carry about 3/4 kgs for a walking, and now, even with polarizing/ND filters, extra battery, is less than 1 kgs.When you walk for 8/12 kms, it makes a difference!
The lens range/quality is very good, (I tend not surpassing 500mm) stabilization is awesome, 4K filming is gorgeous, mainly when arriving home and watch live concerts in my Panasonic 4K tv!
The app is also very good (much better than Nikon) in controlling camera, importing files to iPad, etc..
For the price it costs actually, everyone should have one in the traveling bag!!! (all the money you save in lenses, cleaning them…)

Waiting for a FZ 3000(?), with same lens, 20mb sensor (just for cropping effects) and less noise (until 6400). For now is perfect!!

The image stabilization works well justu.faith/pLumixFZ80?yo but you need to do your part by bracing yourself or use a tripod. This is probably the best camera for world travelers. It can hold thousands of photographs, around 3890 (raw format w/jpeg) on a 256 gigabyte sd card. This camera replaces my DMC-FZ35, may it rest in peace.
FZ300 or FZ1000?
the image quality of the fz80 on full zoom is very bad ! even zoomed out to only 600mm (half way) isnt very good at all in my opinion ! but the fz300 takes a very clear pic on full zoom if the lighting is good ! ive used the fz300 for over a year now and some of the pics it takes in good lighting conditions are outstanding for such a small sensor camera plus the lens is a remarkable piece of engineering!!! its almost an insult to compare the 2 cameras 🙂
My FZ300 has Ghosting problems in 4K. Not in 1080p.
