after sales service is horrible.. never ever buy this unit.. they wont fix your unit if it is already out of warranty but they will convince you to send it to them so they can get the unit back.

DO NOT buy a Cycliq 12 CE, Its been over a year and the Unit will still not work properly, Its worked only Once in that time and after numerous SD card swaps, Firmware updates and constant Tech Emails and still not working . Bad Customer support for such a lousy camera.

    Fly12
    Light… Brilliant! Camera… Again brilliant!
    Price… ridiculous!
    Software… utterly *rap!
    Support… diabolical!
Position of the indicator lamps…. useless! And too dim!
    Beeps… totally confusing.
Warnings…. they go on and on and on and.
Check your Garmin… the light switches on, the camera overwrites your video and flattens the battery.
Charge your Garmin… the light switches on, the camera overwrites your video and flattens the battery.
Your Garmin finishes charging… the light switches on, the camera overwrites your video and flattens the battery, and the stupid beeping wakes you up!
Switch it off… it switches itself on!

Bluetooth theft alarm… pretty much line of sight, so pointless. Just watch your bike!

Whoever wrote the software has no idea! None! Nada! They have ruined what should be a great product. A bike light shouldn't put you off your cycling! The Fly12 often puts me off my ride, wondering what stupid thing it will do next!

Cycliq video editing software…. DON'T! use Virb!

Both the fly 12 and 6 need a lot more work for a premium product it should be a lot better especially battery life, and recording in the dark.
Also I had to send both units back for replacement

My Fly6 stopped turning on and I can’t get Cycliq to even acknowledge a trouble ticket, much less attempt a repair. It is turning into an expensive waste of money.

My Love hate affair with mine continues… I have the Fly CE front and rear, which have both been replaced and the rear has failed again, so I've had to deal with their poor customer service once more. I now have the 'I can't be bothered with this company any more but they are the only company offering an integrated camera so i'm stuck with buying another from them if I want to have the ability to film' situation!

It has just taken them (today) 39 days to reply to my last enquiry about my terminal rear Fly6ce. I asked for a response 4 times over that time period… to then have a blunt reply with no apology for the lack of reply poor service saying that as water got in, it is my fault. So, lets just think about that – water got into a non-waterproof rear light sat in its supplied bracket in its only mounting position; but failure is the users doing.

The cameras give clear footage and are neat and sit well on the bike. They look like a nice product and sit well on a tasty ride. They don't weigh to much, considering all thats in them, But in use, although it has improved hugely over the last couple of years I've had the cameras, app integration and footage retrieval could still be improved. Especially if you have some new GoPro kit it compare it with for example.

As an example, I've had two incidents which I wanted footage for. On the parts that were actually recorded, I was unable to add the Strava metrics to either incident. When the sync process worked, it would sync out of step with the video. The software they supply was unable to process the video… although it does sort of work now ( I haven't needed to try it in the last few months). At the time, I was told to wait until they updated their software, which is not an acceptable response. Their updates to the cameras have been witchcraft and have robbed me of hours of my life I'll never get back, but they have finally addressed this with an update a couple of months ago which seems to work. Making it work the way it should always have had. I've also had ongoing SD card incompatibility issues too, resulting in missed footage and after multiple SD card purchases and many emails fighting my corner, they sent a Cycliq branded card – which worked!?

I have always had an issue with the rubber cap on the rear Fly6ce. In December 2019, the stream of water flung from my rear wheel had enough force over a three hour ride to dislodge the rubber seal cap. It finally gave up resulting in the camera being damaged… not to mention the miles on the dark rainy road I didn't have a working light! I was out on my gravel bike and the (surprise) rain was torrential and I'm sure the force of the water from the wider gravel tyre than my usually road bike mounted road tyre stream was enough to push the cap open. I had brought up this water hits the cap issue with them a few times through ownership. The UK being wetter than their Australian climate. But with no response/admittance from them.

Looking for a replacement today, I see there is a new rear camera design called 'gen2' and they have changed the rubber cap fitment, so that the front edge cannot be moved by a water stream. So obviously I am very sceptical and disappointed that a flaw I have asked them about has been changed, but I am now out of pocket when it has finally failed, ironically when the new design comes to market.

The usability of the lights would be increased if they offered a couple of other mounts to allow other placements on the bike. ie. taking the rear camera out of the stream of water. Especially when they are not waterproof.

So as I write, I need to invest in another unit from them, because there is 'no' competitor… and I can only hope that I get more from this one if I decide to spend more money on their product. I have plenty to be cynical about.

Cycling is freedom in a perfect world, but in our real world the camera is almost a necessity unfortunately, which makes me wonder why Cycliq don't have any competition. That would bring some advancement in the tech very quickly and be a good thing for every cyclist!

They do work, but they could be a whole lot better than they are.

Good idea but extremely bad quality and support ! Bought the Fly6 in Mar 2019, after just a few months, in Oct 2019, the unit failed to connect to the app and unable to charge.
I put up a case to the support team, the responese is extremely slow sighting high demand for support, until now (Nov 2019), no action yet.
Very disappointed with the product and support level. Do not recommend to purchase this product unless you don't mind the short life span.

Fly6 is the worst gadget you can ever buy, the customer services is crap, the after sales services is crap. they keep sending you links to update not actually reading the details of the problem. The FLY6 (piece of crap, waste of money) keeps beeping even though I have inserted a brand new SD card as recommended. no they will not look at the dam gadget but keep sending me link to update. OMG people please do not buy this piece of crap, if you want to throw away your money give it to me , I need to replace my back light, once the SD card section is Fudged there is nothing you can do unless you are deaf and do not mind riding around with that annoying beeping noise. I have been emailing Cycliq since June . I am feed up and pissed off.
Anyone got any suggestion please help. do not buy FLy6 it's crap.

Under what circumstances would one leave a quick releasable $300 camera attached when walking away from your bike?
    Alarm? Really

"Pretty quick?" "8th turn mount?" All that means to me is someone can steal it quickly if i go a few or many flights up an elevator or stairs. Humans who create these ALMOST amazing items never keep in mind that some people would like to leave it on their bike for the alarm and phone alert while they sleep/visit a friend in a 12 story building in Manhattan/delivery guys who enter many tall office buildings etc. etc. Give me something just like this with a permanent mount like that Halo bike accessorie that has that "special" key to unlock and I'm sold. Til then I'm still searching for a bike camera that can't be easily stolen while you're far away and not just a phone notification a few feet away while u stop at Starbucks with the glass windows where u could easily see your bike and get to it in 5 seconds. Great item, but a few minor changes could make it perfect to protect my $1,500.00 ebike

    I have both units.

F;y6CE and Fly12CE are suited commuters with deep pockets (well GCN has an audience with deep pocket LOL), and as a safety recording device. This is super expensive and fairly average video quality, compared to dedicated camera options, especially given the choices you have to make re. HDR/30fps vs under-exposed EIS/60fps (stabilization) – it does not do both at the same time. Even in this review, look at the brightness of the two momentary clips they show of actual device footage.

Both units really win, for me, because they are single units, covering both lights and video, front and back, with passable video quality (just) for safely and recording of incidents, and an acceptable, if not stellar, battery life.

It would be a massive improvement to make the firmware upgrade possible via Bluetooth, and the app to prompt me to do so, like my Bluetooth headphones – the current upgrade process is tiresome and you need to check if an update is possible via the Cycliq web site.
