Nice! I like that I can now monitor my audio if I need too. I've sometimes had poor audio (older mic) and didn't realize it until I was doing post editing work. Great feature..Also, love that this mic powers ON/OFF with the camera. I've forgotten to turn my MIC off so many times in the past.

The update you suggested (which I didn't even know existed) fixed my white noise/hissing problem – thank you!

are you experiencing any hissing noises with this mic? Just started using it, and found that there's pretty bad noise at just 4 and the camera setting at a quarter on the eos R.

Hello, could you tell me if the Rode VideoMic NTG will work with the SR-AX100 audio mixer, the Deity needs plug in power to operate, thanks.

I have a really serious question for this mic, I have a very notorious lens for the focusing noise but the really fantastic optical performance and
affordable price which is sigma 18 -35 with sony a6400. just wondering is there any chance that I can work around of focusing noise issue by using this directional shotgun mic? what if I mount this mic 10-15cm away from the body using a flexible arm ? can I decrease the focusing noise reasonably?

Thanks this was awesomel. I'm new to everything and have had to guess and check so much with the NTG mic. Now I understand more of the symbols and what they do which is realllly helpful! Thanks!

Hey man. Great vid. Quick question. What would you envisage the Pros and Cons to be when using the VideoMic NTG as a proper Boom mic, being moved around by a boom operator on a boom pole etc., specifically having it connected in the way that Rode describes in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkUjnPmmOYs, using the Rode Wireless Go. Obviously not appropriate for a Hollywood feature film! I'm thinking when recording audio for a company promo, documentary interviews, etc.

    I have a XLR-K3M kit.
So, the XLR-K3M or the NTG?

feedback welcomed, can't decide whether to return because it blocks the screen which is heartbreaking
