When I was a boy I walked the endless deserts in the land they now call Ulumodo.
I went and looked across the orange horizon, searching again for Mogadaro's Mask.
Sometimes It would dance as in a vision of heat between the sky and sand, and disappear as nearer I came.
A mask of wood and feather and bone, it flitted here and there across the horizon.
    And I followed it still.
I wondered what carved its ancient likeness, a face like time in all its wisdom.
    And I followed it still.
When at last I found it at horizon's end, I was an older man.
The long years their toll had taken, wandering across the desert sand.
I looked through Mogadaro's Mask, and saw a warm expanse, a place my mind reached out to touch.
    A place beyond the sand.
    And I followed it still

As a cop I struggle to find peace in a world that hates my career. The means to put food on the table for my son and wife, and the biggest struggle of all is to find peace with the inner demons off all the death, abuse, and tragedy that these eyes have seen. My true fear is that my true soul and sense of what I used to be will forever be lost and never to return. I feel my wife and son look at a stranger, and I look in the mirror and I don’t see me. This music gives me hope to look for what once and and hopefully what can be.

    A plane is flying

    The trees are swaying

We are pretending to be leaves

    The trees are swaying

The city lights are my stars

If I walk to the farthest light I see,

And to the next one after that

How many people will I pass?

Eno just does something to me, I don't know what it is, and I cant tell if I like it or not, but I think I do. I've been listening to Music For Airports (and Wetland by Hiroshi Yoshimura, worth checking out) every night to get to sleep. I'm just now deciding to go back to the times where I would discover so much music like this and listen to it on the bus and at night. About 2 years ago, I was just discovering UK Garage and house music. That stuff changed me. Then I moved on to Jungle, then Hip Hop, but then I discovered this stuff thanks to my teacher. Honestly it's crazy, that I'm already nostalgic about a time not that long ago. So close yet so far. William Basinski, Brian Eno, Hiroshi Yoshimura (pretty much all those Japanese ambient artists too), Aphex Twin (Stone In Focus, Rhubarb, Lichen), Lunatik Sound System, and more recently Heinbach, have all inspired me to make Ambient Music and Drone. I've since moved on to IDM (don't really like that name, it's just the easiest way to say it) and stuff like that, this music will always hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you to Eno, thank you to my teacher, thank you to all those other people, and thank YOU, the reader of this, for being one of the billions of people to create their own story and make this universe a truly special place to live in. I hope you're doing well, and if not, I hope you can make it through.

It's ridiculous that you cannot buy the CD version of this piece any more. Hello, Brian, money to be made here!

This may be subtle but it will rattle the nails out of the floorboards.
