I had the great pleasure of meeting Mr. Sam Lay, the great drummer on this recording and so many other classics. It was in a small club many years later when he was touring with his Sam Lay Blues Band. He was extremely friendly and sat down at the table with me and my friends during his breaks. That's one of my greatest musical memories.

Yeah it is , a true masterpiece in human dignity, grace , and compassion. Lol, feels good to be able to shout it out with you, Mr Dylon. The auctistic made it. Think I met him in Melbourne once. My friend and I were putting flowers on a pretend grave that had been made.

Like its Country song-length counterpart, "El Paso" (Marty Robbins), retailers may have been confused as to if they should have priced this 45 as an Extended Play record since it was over 5 minutes long.

I used to listen to this song with my first love. This was my song to him. We met in 1979. How I loved him and still do to this day. Unfortunately he passed away 15 years ago. How I wish we were still together. RIP my love ❀
