Great and all but I can’t use this as my trucks cig lighter is always on. Leaving the plug in would drain my batttery

wHERE'S the wireless components go? I have an Envoy XUV with a dual action tailgate and am stumped because the tailgate opens both by hinging on the right side like an old Ford Station Wagon, or by folding down like a pickup. I can't have the wires going thru the cargo area, because it can be wide open to the elements. Because of the dual-action tailgate, it has the rear window that goes down into the gate so not sure I can run wires from the license plate bracket…
