Excellent review. I purchased this camera and I am with you – good for the price, but not great. I did find the video quality is very good to excellent at 1080p at 60fps, and it does take excellent quality still photos. Also, the Brave 6 manual does not mention anything as to the internal microphone's location. I figured out it is the small hole on the front of the camera just below and to the right of the number 6. I also learned no audio can be recorded when the camera is inside of its clear waterproof protective case. But, I came up with a solution to this problem.
I drilled a small hole through the plastic case precisely inline with the hole. I then purchased a small, round rubber gasket, about 1 cm in diameter, and placed it onto the inside of the plastic case around the hole I drilled. The camera pressing up against the plastic case creates more than enough pressure to keep the gasket in place to where it does not move. And, if you're not going into a wet environment, you would not even need the gasket around the hole. For just a few dollars, another waterproof protective case can be purchased should there be a need to place the camera in water.
I should mention the only reason I bothered putting in the gasket was because someone told me that such a small opening over the microphone could possibly create fogging inside the protective case, depending on the humidity level and moisture in the air. But, in dry climates I do not believe this would be a problem and the gasket not necessary.

Did you test cycling? Even with image stabilization on and a smooth road, it's very bumpy.

Does enabling image stabilizer reduces the camera angle of view? My EK7000 reduced from 170deg to much less!
I ordered this (still not arrived) and watching your videos. No external mic supported. How u record this with external mic on early video?
I own this cam & after doing extensive video tests using a complex fixed subject with very controlled lighting, I tested all the settings and then I used the Bits/(Pixel*Frame) tests in mediainfo. The winning video setting was 1080P at 30FPS, this yielded a Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.750 . Don't waste your money on the external mike for this cam, it works at such a low audio level, not worth it.
