ADT is a complete scam and violated the security of my home. Their excuse was ADT is the same company as Protection one so that allowed someone else to take control of my home security system but at the same time ADT is a different company than Protection one so they assume no responsibility for what they do. So let it be known if you own an ADT security system on your home anyone can set up Protection one and a technician will come to your home and reconfigure your system under someone else's name and you're still on the hook for the bill yet they take no responsibility. Also dont expect a call or an alert that your system is being repossessed they conveniently leave those out. Also they have a ton of class action lawsuits. please look those up

I just had a system installed. When I placed the order the salesman over the phone said it would take 2 hours. It took 14 hours and the installer forgot to add the deadbolt and ring bell, and lied saying I never told him. The installers were horrible and kept taking their masks off.

ADT is a joke. When your alarm goes off, they call 2 to 3 different phone numbers to make sure its not a false alarm before actually calling the police. By that time, the burglars have already stolen what they came for. CPI Security on the other hand has the fastest response time. When the alarm goes off, someone comes over a loud speaker asking for the password. If you fail to give them the correct password or they hear no response at all, they immediately call the police.

I had the WORST experience with ADT, It just kept gettin worse!! My deceased uncle's home was broken into and trashed twice directly after his passing. We signed up for ADT. We knew we would not be keeping the servcie there and we were told we could move it to our home. The sensors were put in wrong and could not be corrected, even though someone did come out to fix it. The system would not alarm, due to this. My 85 year old father thought it was arming, therefore we never knew. We figured out the sensor issue and just took it off, that area could not be protected so my dad barracaded the door. The system continued to not work, therefore, I figured I would just be moving it to my residence (which I didn't need) to ride out the contract. Despite the stickers being in the window and the system still being visibly plugged in, the house was broken into yet again with squatters (those who decide to live in empty houses). Due to this, that house is being torn down, so we don't need the system. WELL, if you move the device, you have to get a new contract and equipment for anther 3 years. Therefore, you are being punished for moving. I also attempted to move it to my business, which I happened to start after all of this totally unplanned. I could NOT transfer it! Therefore, my only option is to pay for a system for the next 15 months that will not be used, or I do get a 25% discount on the remainder of the balance if I turn off the service, wow….. I would NOT recommend ADT, but if you do choose, read between the lines really well and know what you are getting into.

Two guys are talking about home security system they have. One of them says- I am with ADT with a plan for $0 per month. How this is possible?- asks the other one. Easy, I printed their logo and taped one on each window. That is it, it works!

Right now bc of the coronavirus, there are no additional fees I have to pay for installation or for equipment. I am getting $1814 worth of items for no charge as well as a $100 visa giftcard. I have an appointment for this week to get installed. So far I'm pretty happy but even if the beginning process gets tainted somehow I am very happy to have watched this video bc I am more worried about the monitoring and the equipment itself.

ADT is the one company you never want to trust for your monitoring. They use a "cookie cutter" approach to responding versus a more personalized response through smaller monitoring stations. They use no "cancel codes" to let the station know you have accidentally set the alarm off and this greatly increases the risk of false dispatches. They also do not have daily or even weekly test signals going to the station to let them know the alarm is still online. Bell and Rogers routinely destroy alarm system connectivity during visits (about 50% of the time), and without test signals no one knows the alarm is in trouble. Also, I have seen smoke detectors on a system that have NEVER been connected due to difficulties in running the wire. A friend had a business ADT system that falsed and they dispatched the police 15 times in one day costing the customer thousands of dollars (they should have known on the second call but nothing seems to be co-ordinated). Our local police department considers every ADT call for dispatch as a false alarm. Their contract is onerous; there is never a need to sign anything other than a month to month contract as long as you are paying full price for the system up front. Phoney "free systems" do need a contract however in order to pay for that equipment.

Frankly, big companies are nothing but revenue generators for their shareholders; REAL customer service is usually non existent. They routinely buy up the competition to limit other services available.

Educate yourself !!! Don't form your opinions and make buying decisions based on advertising; it's never the reality in the security industry.

(In the interests of full disclosure, I own and operate a small independent alarm company so I am commenting from a biased but realistic position. My comments generally also apply for local service here only)

Question I have an appointment with ADT to come into my home they say they are giving me equipment worth 800 dollar value for free and on top they added $400 extra Valu to use with their service like an additional sensor instead of me paying for it Dell deducted from those $400 they can deduct it from that. On top we had to pay a fee of $106 before even the guy coming in to my house I guess that covers installations however if we don't want their service they can refund the money as long as they don't get nothing installed in my home what do you think about this deal that they're offering or is it just a fake offer. On top of that also they offer us $200 a Visa card to us but I wonder if that's only money to use to get more equipment from them

FYI indirect agents that sell ADT can get you the whole package, cameras included for FREE! Free installation and equipment! $99 activation fee…you have to go with a reseller, not corporate. Same service and company just much cheaper. Google the ADT reseller in your area, they are much more nimble and have the freedom to do free! Signed up today and getting installed today, what a blessing!
