Hello again heroin addiction.
Wistful longing for this era. Late nights out at clubs spinning post-punk, acid jazz, trip-hop, ambient and often times just jazz. There was a sophistication about it all that seemingly was abruptly dropped in the early aughts with that dreadful return to cosplay “punk” and the outset of ironic dress-up. It’s like my generation just quickly aged and then the future got cancelled. Now all were left with are iPhone upgrades, Netflix, and Bandcamp. Nights out without devices, meeting new people, sharing great stories in dimly lit rooms over coffee or drinks are now a distant memory. Nice to time travel and read these comments to know I’m not alone.
