The halcyon days of when films like Saw, Hostel, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake) ruled the Box Office has been replaced with more mainstream fare but no matter what obstacles, horror fans will find their films no matter what format they are released in.
The props & SFX used in Forbidden Planet are similar to that of the 60s Star Trek and Lost in Space. You have to ‘trick’ the primitive brain by working symbolically. Then ask them how they are doing expressing a mild curiosity only.
